One morning, while scouting the area in Amboseli, we noticed a bit of commotion, vultures, maribu stalks, jackals and a few others. Assuming this was a kill that had happened overnight, we decided to get a little closer to see the interactions between all the different species. As we were getting closer, I noticed some vultures sitting in a couple of acacia trees, and I decided to position myself to get the rising sun perfectly between the trees.

I like that this is a very quintessential African sunrise that I have captured with a nice smooth transition of colours throughout the image. I have also had it pointed out to me that this is a perfect image for a 70th birthday!
